Manufacturer Expanding in Quad Cities

(Rock Island, IL) — Bellota, an agricultural blade manufacturer in Spain, has announced that they are moving into an existing space of 30,000 square feet in Milan, with the option to grow to 60,000 square feet. In the initial investment Bellota will provide 15 to 25 jobs, with the aim of increasing capacity to manufacture new models and assemblies.

Bellot is the worldwide leader in the manufacture of solutions and components for agricultural machinery, and is a key supplier to the main agricultural machinery manufacturers. Bellota celebrates its centennial this year, and for the past 30 years has been providing the highest quality disc blades in the U.S.

Due to the big demand in farm machinery, Bellota has decided to locate an additional production capacity in the main agricultural machinery market, substantially reducing hte lead time and improving the service.

The Quad Cities was able to attract the business with collaboration between Bob Eckhart, Mel Foster Company, Quad City Development Group, Blackhawk College, Village of Milan, and the State of Illinois. Foreign direct investment is a growing trend in the Quad Cities. "The Quad Cities needs to focus its attention on the new global marketplace," Nancy Mulcahey, President of the Quad City Development Group commented. "The addition of Bellota to our corporate Quad City family is another step down that road."
