Quad Cities Launches New Wind Website
(Rock Island, IL) The Quad City Development Group (QCDG) has launched a new website (www.QuadCitiesWind.com) to provide information about regional assets that support the growth of the wind industry.
Located where I-80 crosses the Mississippi, the Quad City Region is able to support a strong logistics function for wind turbine components with the combination of barge, rail and trucking transportation modes.
With demand for renewable energy technology and the wind patterns of nearby midwestern states, the Quad City Region is experiencing a lot of attention for wind energy generation development. New training programs in Eastern Iowa Community College District are also working in the direction of more technical skills development to foster renewable energy installations.
The website presents regional data, maps, workforce data, available properties, and incentive programs for wind energy companies. It also explains how the Quad City Development Group can help wind companies locate and grow in the region.
Wind industry intelligence, including industry associations’ happenings and wind maps are organized for easy access. News on the local QCDG Discovery Group for Wind and a new Logistics & Supply Management Training Program (offered in partnership with Eastern Iowa Community College District, Black Hawk College and Western Illinois College) can also be found on the website.
Companies interested in learning about comparable costs for transportation of wind components can contact the QCDG for a customized analysis at (309) 788-7436 or (563) 326-1005
